Every story
has a Hidden Frequency.

We call it
SOUND.

Hidden Frequencies is a London-based sound studio founded on the belief that sound is the invisible layer of cinematic storytelling. While audiences consciously experience the image, it is sound that shapes emotion, tension and memory beneath the surface.

Revealing what pictures alone cannot.

Hidden Frequencies was founded by award-winning sound designer Chad Orororo on a simple belief. The most powerful storytelling often happens through what the audience never consciously sees.

Sound has the ability to reveal emotion, shape perspective and uncover the invisible layers of a story. It can build tension before danger appears, create intimacy without dialogue and transform an image into an experience.

At Hidden Frequencies, every creative decision begins by asking one question:

What can sound reveal that the image alone cannot?

Working across feature films, documentaries, television and commercial projects, Chad collaborates with directors, editors and producers to develop sonic worlds that feel authentic to each story.

Rather than approaching sound as a technical process, he sees it as an essential part of the narrative; one that supports character, atmosphere and emotion with intention and restraint.

His work includes collaborations with filmmakers such as Steve McQueen, Wes Anderson, Akinola Davies Jr., Misan Harriman and Daisy-May Hudson, with credits including Blitz, The Deepest Breath, My Father’s Shadow, Lollipop, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, The Swan and The Tinder Swindler. His work has been recognised with an AMPS Award for Best Sound Design, and he is a BAFTA Breakthrough alumnus.

Whether working on intimate independent cinema or large-scale international productions, the philosophy remains the same:

Every story has a hidden frequency. We call it sound.
